Friends of the Settlers Membership

If you would like to become more involved in the activities of the museum, receive invitations to openings or merely want to be kept informed become a Friend.

Aim

To support the museum

Objectives

1. To positively promote the museum's key objectives and strategies to members, the community and other stakeholders.
2. To encourage members to give their time and skills to support the museum's programmes and operations.
3. To provide through membership fees and other means support for the museum's development and projects.
4. To develop and support a strong and diverse membership base.
5. To build and sustain the Friends organisation to enable an effective partnership with the museum.

Volunteers

The 'new' Petone Settlers Museum is committed to offering more exhibitions, more programmes and a more vibrant visitor experience.

One of the major sources of support for any museum are volunteers and we are keen to build our volunteer base. We always offer full training and support for our volunteers. We would love to hear from any one who would like to offer their skills and time to the museum.
