Getting there...

By Car

From Wellington

Follow the motorway (SH2) signs towards Lower Hutt Exit at Petone going left at the roundabout. At the next roundabout (next to the petrol station) turn right into Jackson Street. Travel down Jackson Street to second set of lights at Cuba Street, then turn right. At the Esplanade lights turn right onto the Esplanade.

From Upper Hutt
Exit the motorway at Petone. Turn right and travel down to the roundabout by Petone Station. Turn left into Jackson Street then as above.

By Train
Petone Station is a 25-minute walk from the museum. Walk down Jackson Street to Buick Street, the museum is at the southern end of Buick Street

By Bus
All buses between Wellington and Lower Hutt stop in Petone, including the orange flyer.

Parking
The Settlers Museum has 2 marked public parking areas on the eastern and western sides of the museum facing the beach. This includes a bus parking facility on the eastern side of the museum.

There are no prescribed disabled car parks, but disabled drivers are welcome to park next the museum building on the east or west side. There is a flat surface all the way to the museum from the east and west car parks.
