Touring Exhibitions
There are currently over 19.2 million people worldwide who are 'of concern' to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. This exhibition looks at these ordinary people who find themselves in extraordinary circumstances and are forced to rebuild their lives in unfamiliar surroundings. It follows the long and difficult journey of refugees from the drastic circumstances that make them leave their homes and families to the issues confronting them as they resettle in New Zealand.
Visitors find themselves in the shoes of a refugee experiencing their lives through interactive storytelling and role-play. For refugees the journey to feeling safe takes many years, can you handle it for half an hour?
This exhibition will be on tour at the Rotorua Museum from the 7th March to 2nd May 2008.
