Land Review

Hutt City Council is currently undertaking a systematic review of land it owns and manages as part of its reserve network. This is being done on a Ward by Ward basis. The purpose of the review is to determine the future best use of the land, including possible disposal.

Proposed New Housing Policy

Hutt City Council is seeking comments and submissions from interested parties on Council’s updated Housing Policy. The proposed Housing Policy is intended to direct Council’s approach to help meet the housing needs of Hutt City.

Residential Housing Review

Hutt City Council has carried out a review of the residential provisions in its District Plan. The key issue it addressed was how to provide for greater housing choice for Hutt residents.

Intention to issue a lease - McEwan Park

Recognising considerable capital investment, the Empire Table Tennis club want to now secure its tenure of the site by surrendering its current lease, which expires in 2015, and seek approval for a new lease term totalling 34 years and commencing in 2008.

Black Creek

An initial Hutt City Council investment of $2.5 million will boost the capacity of Black Creek in Wainuiomata and reduce the risk of flooding.

"491"  -  A new downhill track for mountain bikers and walkers from the top of the Spoonhill Track is the latest addition to the Wainuiomata Trail Project.

Petone Residents Parking Zone

City Council is proposing to introduce a Residents Parking Zone in the streets surrounding the Wellington Institute of Technology (Weltec) in Petone.

Vista Grove Sewer Reinstatement

On 7 August 2006 after heavy rainfall throughout July 2006 a large slip occurred in the rear of properties at No 6, No 8 and No 10 Vista Grove and No 7 and No 9 Levin Grove. As a result of this slip a 40m section of 225mm public sewer main running through No 6 Vista Grove and No 7 Levin Grove was removed together with 10m of a 150mm public sewer main that intersected with the 225mm sewer main within No 7 Levin Grove. In addition a large portion of the house at No 6 Vista Grove at the top of the slip had to be demolished.

Ava to Barber Grove Wastewater Pipeline

Construction started in October 2007 and will last approximately 8 months
