Ageing Together Strategy

We are currently developing an Ageing Together Strategy which will guide the development of specific initiatives and policies to help improve the quality of life of older people.

As an initial step in developing the strategy, we need to improve our understanding of the issues that affect older people in Lower Hutt.  To help us do this we have developed a questionnaire that aims to identify the main issues that affect older people, and to find out about which of these would contribute most to improving quality of life.

Help us to identify the main issues that affect older people, and to find out about which of these would contribute most to improving your quality of life.

The questionnaire needs to be submitted online or posted to us by Tuesday 31 March 2009.

Do you want to be further involved?

As part of the development of the Ageing Together Strategy we have established an Ageing Together Working Group to drive the Strategy.  The working group consists of key agencies and individuals with knowledge and experience concerning older persons.

The working group will hold a meeting four times a year called the Ageing Together Forum.  The forum will be a public meeting open to all individuals and organisations with an interest in being informed of progress on the Ageing Together Strategy, and in discussing matters or issues affecting older persons.  We also plan to invite guest speakers to attend the forum meetings.

If you wish to be involved by attending a meeting of the forum, or have any questions concerning the Ageing Together Strategy, please contact:
