Hutt City Council

CBD Vision 2030

We have now completed two sessions, one on liveability (PDF 40kb) and one on sustainability (PDF 52kb) as part of this early work on visioning for the central area.

Attendances have been very good with a total of just under 60 for the two sessions. The subject has been seen as very interesting and it has seen a lively level of debate across the issues.

The aim is to obtain community feedback so that Council has a structured idea of how the community views the future of the CBD, its role and function in the future and what aspects need to be changed and/or preserved. Sessions 3, 4, 5, and 6 will concentrate on:

The results of this work will be the subject of a report to Council's Strategy and Policy Committee on 28 October 2008, and a formalised draft of the community vision will be released for public consultation finishing in December

We hope that everyone with an interest in what the CBD can be in 2030 will attend at least one of these workshops. The workshops will help us draft a Vision for the CBD for public consultation later in the year.

It's not too late to register for the remaining sessions, or just come along and take part.

To notify us beforehand if you are able to come, email cbdreview@huttcity.govt.nz or phone 04 570 6761.
