The purpose of this project is to investigate options for the future development of the McKenzie Outdoor Swimming Pool, Petone.
A Council and Community working group has been established to guide the project and have been tasked with taking a broad view approach to options for future development providing scope for Council to maximise any opportunities which may be available to improve services or maximise financial benefits.

This Terms of Reference (TOR) sets out the scope of the review, as well as the roles and parameters for cross-divisional co-operation to guide work on this project.

This option study is part of the action plan in the Hutt City Council Swimming Pools Strategy approved in 2005. Council agreed to undertake an investigation of the future of McKenzie Pool in 2006/07 and identify options for Council's assessment.

The Hutt City Council has commissioned LHTDesign to report on the condition, expected residual life and project maintenance costs for the pools, pool surrounds, building and plant at the outdoor McKenzie Pool.
