The Council is responsible for the registering and the control of dogs and stock within the City.
The Archives contain the historic memory of Council – from the earliest beginnings of predecessor authorities such as Petone Borough Council, the Lower Hutt Town Board, Eastbourne Borough Council and the Wainuiomata district of Hutt County Council to video footage of the storms in February 2004.
