Emergency Management
Emergency Management is the discipline and profession of applying science, technology, planning and management to deal with events that can injure or kill people, damage property and disrupt community life.
The objective of the Emergency Management Office is the implementation of programmes designed to create a resilient community that is able to prevent or minimise loss of life, injury and distress, provide for the welfare of people and protection of property affected by emergency events.
The Controller of the Emergency Management Office is responsible for carrying out the Council's functions, roles and obligations under the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002.
