- Hutt Valley Emergency Management was the first Emergency Management Office in NZ to use the Emergency Preparedness Network Readynet.
- The Network will help the Hutt Valley to be better prepared for a major emergency event.
- Your group or business has this opportunity to record information about your Group on the Hutt Valley Emergency Preparedness Network via the internet.
- This information will be shared with the Emergency 111 Call Centres and the Hutt Valley Emergency Operations Centre via the internet. All the information is stored in a secure and encrypted website, similar to internet banking.
- Hutt Valley Emergency Management can use the network to send information and Alerts to you via text message and email.
- When you have completed entering information you can print out an Emergency Action Guide for your neighbourhood.
- Information supplied by users will only be used for the purposes of Emergency Management..
- This information and your preparedness will be important for your group and the Emergency Services preparing for or responding to an emergency.

What information is required to register?
To register we need your Groups/Organisations name, a contact persons name, email and phone number.
How do we register to participate?
You can register by email to Emergency Management or you can phone the Hutt Valley Emergency Management Office on 570 6447
What happens if the power is off and the internet is not available in an emergency?
The Hutt Valley Emergency Operations Centre regularly download, and keep, an electronic copy of the information you supply. The Centre has emergency power generating equipment.
What are the costs?
There is no cost for the network for Hutt City.
What is a Fixed Site?
Schools and Early Childhood Sites, Rest homes and Care Facilities, Tourist/Traveller/Accommodation sites, Food, Retail sites, other commercial industrial sites.
How do I join if im a residential home?
Resdiential homes can join as part of a Neighbourhood Support of Community Group vis Special Interest Groups.
Examples of Special Interest Groups are: A neighbourhood area e.g. a Neighbourhood Support Group, a residential apartment complex etc, A small rural community, A city/district wide support organisation e.g. Hearing Impaired.
