Fleas

Eradication of fleas requires flea control on pets, sanitation of floors, furniture pet bedding and the use of insecticides. Each flea will bite and suck the blood of a specific animal and they will also bite people too! They lay their eggs in the animals environment. The eggs hatch into larvae which live in carpets, cracks or corners and in furniture. Effective control requires treatment of the flea larvae and the adult flea.

• Treat your pet with a flea control product from your vet.
  
• Vacuum your home thoroughly and removed the vacuum bag contents.
  
• Pet bedding should be discarded or washed in hot soapy water.
  
• Residual insecticides should be applied as a general spray on floors, rugs and furniture and all places where the pet frequents.

Note: An insect growth regulator mixed with an insecticide will kill the adult flea and larvae. Insecticide alone will only kill the adult flea.
