Kerbside Recyclables Collection Service

Follow these three simple steps to pack your recycling bin

1. Bundle up your newspapers, cardboard and advertising mail, or put them in supermarket bags and tie them up.
2. Squash your plastic containers and put all plastics, aluminium and steel cans in supermarket bags and tie them up.
3. Put your glass in the bottom of your green bin with heavy bags of paper on top to prevent wind blowing your recycling out of the bin.

Kerbside Recycling Collection Days

Collection days for the five collection areas are the same as the Council Refuse Collection ie -

MONDAY Eastbourne, Eastern Bays, Seaview, Gracefield, Waiwhetu, Waterloo, Epuni East, Fairfield, Moera.
TUESDAY Petone, Alicetown, Hutt Central, Woburn, Epuni West.
WEDNESDAY Western Hills, Liverton Road, Haywards Hill, Belmont Flat, Manor Park, Boulcott, Avalon.
THURSDAY Naenae, Taita, Pomare, Stokes Valley.
FRIDAY Wainuiomata, Moores Valley Road.

Where can I get a new bin?

You can buy a new recycling bin from your nearest Hutt City Council service centre. It's always a good idea to write your address on your bin.
