The Leisure Active Fitness Suite is Hutt City's first multi purpose fitness facility. Based at Naenae Pool and Stokes Valley pool, it is a facility that incorporate all the benefits of a modern day fitness suite with the use of a swimming pool!
Leisure Active operates Hutt City Council's six swimming pools. Huia Pool, Naenae Pool, Stokes Valley Pool, Wainuiomata Summer Pool, Eastbourne Summer Pool & McKenzie Summer Pool.
Sunday 29 November. Pack a picnic and come on this great family coastal mountain bike ride suitble for all ages. The gravel track follows the harbour round to the Pencarrow Lighthouse, built in 1906 and still operating today and then on to Lake Kohangatera.
SWIM CITY runs a Learn to Swim Programme for all ages, from six months of age through to older adults. If you want to learn to swim, receive stroke correction or be informed on important aspects of safety in and around the water, then this is the programme for you.

Walter Nash Stadium is Lower Hutt's premire sporting venue for basketball, netball & volleyball. It is available for hire for sporting events, functions and special occasions. Walter Nash Stadium also offers school holiday programmes and a new 8 week after school basketball skills programme for the school term.
Hutt City Council provides two civic halls and a performing arts theatre in the centre of Hutt City as well as 6 community halls in the wider Hutt City area.

Get moving and have fun by keeping fit this winter with the new Lively Places programme. The programme is designed to motivate Hutt Valley residents to increase their physical activity during the colder winter months. With 22 different activities taking place in local community venues around the Valley between 20 July and the end of September, there's something for everyone.
The 2009 3X3 Active Challenge is back! The Challenge will begin on July 20. Look out for information at your local Hutt City Pool soon and sign up for the 12 week challenge. Swim 3 times a week for 3 months, and be in to win a 6 month membership at the Fitness Suite as well as an Active Prize Pack and Free Breakfast!
The annual Hutt City Triathlon is on 1 Nov 2009. Look out for a registration form at your local pool, library and sports store from July. The Hutt City Triathlon is a fun, achievable event for men and women from ages 12 to over 55's. the course is made up of 4km Run, 8Km cycle and 300m swim around the Hutt Valley area.
The Annual Petone Winter Carnival held on the Petone Foreshore features the Polar Plunge, Street Acts, Fire Sculptures, Circus Acts, Chalk Art, Face Painters, and concludes with the Pelorus Trust Fireshow. Hutt City's newest kids event! The Kaleidoscope KidsFest is taking place these winter school holidays and offers two weeks of full on fun and activities, with something to suit everyone. The 2009 RaboPlus Big Coast event covers around 100kms of the Wellington regions most spectacular, starting from Rimutaka Rail Trail through tunnels and gully’s, around the stunning Palliser Bay and past Pencarrow Head and finishing in Eastbourne.
