Stokes Valley Swimming Pool
About the Pool
Stokes Valley Pool is a public 25 metre indoor pool with an attached learners pool area which gradually slopes from a beach area down to a depth of 0.8 metres. The main pool is 1.2 - 1.4 metres deep. The Pool also has a sauna and spa pool which are available for public use. We also have a large outdoor area with children's playground and BBQ available.
Get fit at the new Stokes Valley Fitness Suite
The new Leisure Active Fitness Suite is ideal for anyone looking to get fit, shed kilos or just work up a sweat.
Located at Stokes Valley Pool, the fitness suite is a multi-purpose community gym where people can work out on the latest equipment or use the heated pool in a friendly, relaxed environment.
It follows on from Hutt City Council’s successful Leisure Active Fitness Suite in Naenae and Mayor David Ogden is excited to be bringing the concept to Stokes Valley.
“We’re committed to improving the wellbeing of people in our community and with low cost memberships our fitness suites make it easy for people to improve their fitness, health and quality of life.
“Our fitness suite motto is ‘believe, begin, become’ and I hope Stokes Valley residents will take up the challenge,” he says.
The pool is hosting an open day on Saturday 7 November for people to view the fitness suite with free entry to the pool from 11am to 2pm. There’ll be a sausage sizzle, face painting and bouncy castle.
Membership to the fitness suite includes free use of the spa and sauna at Stokes Valley Pool, free entry to any of Hutt City Council’s six swimming pools and free aquarobics classes.
As a special offer there’s also no joining fee this November and all new members signed up before 30 November 2009 will go in the draw to win a lifetime membership worth more than $20,000.
Swim memberships:
New swim memberships at all Hutt City Council pools will make it easy to keep fit and cool this summer. Sign up for a swim membership at any of Hutt City’s six swimming pools and swim all you want for only $9 a week. If you’re swimming more than twice a week a swim membership is a cost effective option with regular pool admission costing $4.50 for an adult ($3 for a child). As a special offer, there’s also no joining fee until 2010 (normally $30). The minimum membership period is three months

Learn to Swim Programme
SWIM CITY runs a Learn to Swim Programme from 6 months of age through to older adults. If you want to learn to swim, receive stroke correction or be informed on important aspects of safety in and around the water, then this is the programme for you.

Pool Safety Policy
All children under the age of 8 must be Actively Supervised by a caregiver 16 years of age or over. Actively Supervised means watching your children at all times and able to provide immediate assistance.
