Rates Payment Periods
Rates are payable by six equal instalments during the financial year, which runs from July to June. The first instalment may be based on the previous year's annual rates, because it is charged before the new annual rates are finalised, if so the next five instalments are calculated as one fifth of the annual rates after deducting the first instalment.
The payment dates for each instalment are shown below. The 'Due Date' is the last day before a 10% additional charge is added.

Penalties for Late Payment
Unless you have made a satisfactory arrangement with Council, a penalty of 10% will be added to any unpaid instalment amount after the last date for payment of that instalment. In addition, a further 10% is charged each six months on any rates still owing from previous rating years. If you have rates arrears, please contact the Council to make a payment arrangement.
