Hutt City Council is made up from the former Eastbourne Borough, Petone Borough, Wainuiomata District and Lower Hutt City Councils and the Hutt Valley Drainage Board which were amalgamated in 1989.
The Council has two separate components - the political body which is the elected members and the corporate body which is the administrators.
We want to improve the linkages between our local communities and the Council, and we’re looking for people who are keen to work with the Council on this. Nominations closed at 5pm on Wednesday 20 February 2008.

Who sits on what committees.
Local and District Health Board (DHB) elections are held once every three years, on the second Saturday in October. This year's elections are on 13 October 2007. Voters are able to elect members to city and district councils, regional councils, and DHBs. You can also vote for community boards if you are registered in the Petone, Wainuiomata or Eastbourne area.
