Hutt City Council

Community Committees

We want to improve the linkages between our local communities and the Council, and we’re looking for people who are keen to work with the Council on this.

The Council agreed last December to establish two new community committees for the city.  The North/East Community Committee will engage with the communities of the Northern and Eastern Wards on Council’s behalf.  Likewise the West/Central Community Committee will work with the communities of the Western and Central Wards on Council’s behalf.

Each committee will have nine people, including the ward councillors, working together as a team.  They will support the existing residents’ associations and similar community groups in their area.  This will include working with these established organisations to identify priorities for each area and develop local Community Plans.
