Commission announces decision on representation arrangements for the Hutt City Council

The Local Government Commission today announced its decision on the Hutt City Council’s membership and ward arrangements for the 2007 local elections.

After considering appeals and objections against the Council’s proposal, the Commission has decided that:

  • the Council will comprise a mayor and 12 councillors elected as follows:

Ward Councillors
Northern Ward 2
Western Ward 2
Eastern Ward 2
Central Ward 2
Harbour Ward 2
Wainuiomata Ward 2

  • the Eastbourne, Petone and Wainuiomata Community Boards will be retained with their present membership.

The Commission’s decision confirms the Council’s proposal.
