Thursday, February 01, 2007

Hutt City Council has appointed Dave Kelly as acting CEO until a replacement for outgoing CEO Rik Hart is found.

Mayor David Ogden expressed confidence in Mr Kelly and said his appointment reflected his wide experience within the organisation.

“We are fortunate to have a person of Dave’s knowledge and expertise to fill the position of acting CEO during this transition period for the organisation.

“Dave’s appointment will provide stability and continuity until such time as a permanent appointment is made.”

Mr Kelly has previously filled the role of acting CEO in Mr Hart’s absence.

“I want to point out that any of the General Managers could have filled the role, highlighting the high quality of people working for the organisation.”

Mayor Ogden said the process of finding a new CEO was well underway with Council appointing Mike Stenhouse from Sheffield to assist with the recruitment.

“I’m hopeful we can announce a new CEO in April.”
