Good morning.
Welcome and thank you for coming today and supporting a great cause – Te Omanga Hospice.
Since 1979 Te Omanga has cared for those living with a terminal illness and helped family and close friends cope during the patient’s illness and in bereavement.
It has provided a valuable service and touched the lives of thousands of individuals and families in the Hutt Valley and Wairarapa.
I want to acknowledge the wonderful staff and volunteers of Te Omanga for their care and compassion. Let’s give them a round of applause.
Today is an opportunity for the community to give back to Te Omanga, to show our appreciation, and to ensure its good work continues.
I am very grateful to everybody involved in organising the race, as well as the hundreds of people who sponsored ducks.
It’s great to see the community come together to raise money for a fantastic cause.
Enjoy the race and good luck!
