The Waiu Wetland project is located at the base of the Wainuiomata hill road, at the end of Waiu Street. Blackberry, gorse, willow, hawthorn, holly, Himalayan and Japanese honeysuckle, wattle, etc. have established over time, along with some emergent natives.
