The Taita community is to take part in the planting of a communal fruit orchard, Freedom Fruit Garden, the result of an artist project by AD Schierning’s at TheNewDowse. Hutt City Council is donating 30 fruit trees to the planting which takes place next Tuesday 7 September, 1pm at Walter Nash Park (off Molesworth St).

Police and Hutt City Council are running a week long campaign to ensure cyclists stand out and stay safe at night. The campaign is supported by Lower Hutt retailer Avanti Plus Cycles and cycle-friendly Celsius Café on Hutt Road, Petone.
