Hutt City Council

Ageing Together questionnaire available

Tuesday, February 24, 2009

The Hutt’s older residents are being encouraged to play their part in the development of the city’s Ageing Together Strategy by letting Council know about the key issues that affect them.

“We want to improve our understanding of the key concerns and problems that older people in Lower Hutt face, so we can work with the community and other agencies to promote and support projects or actions that can address these areas,” says Councillor Barbara Branch, Chairperson of the Ageing Together Working Group.

“To help us do this, we’ve developed the ‘Ageing Together’ questionnaire.  The questionnaire only takes a few minutes to complete and I encourage all our older residents to fill one in so we can take their views into account.

“Responses are confidential and we’ll use the information to develop the Ageing Together Strategy.  The Strategy will guide the development of initiatives and policies to enhance the lives of our older residents.

“The questionnaire is available at all Hutt City libraries and the Council building in Laings Road, by calling 570 6666, or online at www.huttcity.govt.nz   Completed questionnaires need to be returned to the Council by  31 March.”
