SH2 Dowse To Petone Upgrade Project – Road Closure
The Dowse to Petone Upgrade team is continuing to make steady progress on the project that will improve journeys on SH2 between Petone and Dowse Drive.
The date of the final beam lift, which creates the Dowse Interchange bridge span over Hutt Road, has now been set. The lift will happen on the evening of Wednesday 27 August between 6pm and 6am at which time a small section of Hutt Road will be closed.
Access to properties within the closure area will be available, but a diversion via Wakefield St and Beaumont Ave will be in place for those travelling beyond the site.
If the team do not manage to lift all the beams in to place in one night, the work will continue from 6pm on Thursday 28 August. In the event of unsuitable weather or other circumstances beyond our control that preclude work from starting on the Wednesday night, the lift will take place on Monday 1 September instead, and continue on Tuesday 2 September if required.
Every effort will be made to ensure noise is kept to a minimum, but your patience and understanding is appreciated as we continue to construct the new Dowse Interchange.
