A water main rupture at Hutt City’s Huia Pool has resulted in the pool being closed to the public. The main ruptured on Monday night and resulted in water filling the service tunnels around the pool. The water was pumped out by the fire service and the impact of the rupture on the pool machinery is currently being assessed.
The pool was scheduled to be closed from 22 June to 3 July for routine maintenance. To minimise ongoing disruption to pool users, this has been brought forward so the maintenance and any repairs required due to the burst water main can be undertaken together.
The pool is scheduled to reopen on Saturday 20 June.
