What's this project about?
Keep Lower Hutt Beautiful is a non-profit group supported by Council with a vision to reduce litter and pollution in our city. Council has worked closely with Keep Lower Hutt Beautiful since it started in September 1991.
Keep Lower Hutt Beautiful has initiated many programmes and projects for the benefit of the city including:
- Paint out and mural projects
- 'Paint Hutt City Beautiful Week', established before it was picked up by Keep New Zealand Beautiful through its 'Wall Worthy' mural competition
- One-stop shop graffiti eradication programme
- Beach clean-ups
- "Tidiest Schools" competition
Get involved during the year
Whether you're an individual or family, if you’ve got a little time or a lot - there's always something you can do to help keep New Zealand beautiful.
