Long Term Plan Consultation
Last year we extended the Hutt City Development Charges and Rates Remissions Policy for another 3 years (till June 2020). At the time there was a lot of uncertainty about some key projects we wanted to support. The purpose of extending the policy was to encourage more urban development to meet our Urban Growth Strategy targets.
Over the last financial year to date, we have a record number of applications (47). These applications have been more intensive and diverse compared to previous years. The policy has now fulfilled its purpose and we are proposing to suspend the policy from 31 December 2018. We are consulting on this policy change in the LTP consultation which runs from 4th April – 3rd May 2018
The City Wide Development Remissions Policy is been reviewed and being consulted on as part of the Long Term Plan.
