Once we’ve approved your resource consent, you need to check:
- that you understand any conditions attached to it
- that you understand the ways we need you to monitor compliance with those conditions
- whether the activity for which your resource consent has been granted has an expiry date. You must apply for any extensions at least six months before that date
- that you know the timeframe for starting the activity. Your resource consent will lapse if the work isn’t started within five years from the date the consent is granted.
When you’re about to start the work you’ll need to arrange a pre-commencement check – email enforcement@huttcity.govt.nz or phone us on 04 560 1044.
You must make sure that you comply with the conditions in your resource consent. If you don’t, you could be fined or prosecuted. Find out more about the penalties.
