The Certificate of Title for a property has information on:
- the size and general shape of the section
- who owns the property
- whether there are mortgages, leases, rights of way or other interests registered against the title
- whether the land is freehold or leasehold.
You can get a copy of a Certificate of Title from the consents counter at the Council offices. It costs $20.
You can also get a copy of any interests on the title such as a covenant, consent notice, easement or lease. These sometimes list protected trees or features.
