There are two active cemeteries in Lower Hutt: Taita Cemetery and the Wainuiomata Garden of Remembrance.

There are a number of options and specifications for plaques and headstones, and you’ll need to follow these when decorating a plot. You’ll also need to apply for a permit to erect a headstone or plaque.

Plots are secured consecutively only in Wainuiomata Garden of Remembrance and can’t be pre-purchased in any of our cemeteries.
