To enable a new owner to operate the business under the same terms and conditions as the existing licence we can issue a Temporary Authority, provided the premises has a current On- or Off-licence.
Before you make an application
While you're applying for a licence you may need our advice. Please get in touch and make an appointment at least a day in advance to see us.
You should apply to Hutt City Council (your local District Licensing Committee) only if your business is based within the boundaries of Lower Hutt. This includes Wainuiomata, Petone and Eastbourne.
- You must apply for a permanent alcohol licence within 15 days of your Temporary Authority being granted
- A person holding a Manager’s Certificate must be on the premises at all times when alcohol is being sold
