About our cleanfill
We own a cleanfill site at 126-196 Coast Road, Wainuiomata for commercial customes only.
Cleanfill is material that will not have an adverse effect on people or the environment when buried. This includes:
- natural materials - clay, soil and rock, concrete or brick (commercial customers only)
- other inert materials - free from anything that could be/produce hazards to people or the environment.
Cleanfill operations are guided by the Ministry for the Environment (MfE) and regulated by the Greater Wellington Regional Council and Hutt City Council.
MfE Guide on Cleanfill Management
In December 2019, an independent commissioner granted resource consent for the Stage 3 operation of the Wainuiomata Cleanfill.
