What is cleanfill?
Cleanfill is material that will have no adverse effect on people or the environment when buried.
- Natural materials such as clay, soil and rock, concrete or brick (commercial customers only)
- Other inert materials - free from anything that could be or could produce hazards to people or the environment.
Cleanfill operations are guided by the Ministry for the Environment and regulated by the Greater Wellington Regional Council and Hutt City Council. Read the guide on cleanfill management.
Our cleanfill site
We own a cleanfill site at 126-196 Coast Road, Wainuiomata. The cleanfill is for commercial customers only.
In December 2019, an independent commissioner granted resource consent for the Stage 3 operation of the Wainuiomata Cleanfill.
