Ephraim Gazo is in his first term serving as an Eastern Ward Community Committee Member and is enthusiastically looking forward to the triennium ahead.
Originally from the Philippines, Ephraim and his family migrated to New Zealand in 2004, where he attended Naenae College and was Deputy Head Boy in 2007. His experience at Naenae also encouraged him to be further involved in extracurricular activities which included his participation in a number of sports and community involvement with groups such as the Sir Peter Blake Youth Environment Forum, Sister Cities NZ, Naenae Computer Clubhouse, the Hutt Multicultural Council, and Youth Infusion.
He has recently obtained a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Education, Political Science and International Relations through Victoria University of Wellington. His passions include environmental sustainability, encouraging and engaging young people to be actively involved in their communities, as well as celebrating the cultural diversity within Lower Hutt.
In his spare time, Ephraim enjoys playing tennis, badminton, and snowboarding, as well as meeting new people and encouraging them to play an active and engaged role in their communities through the help of new technologies such as Facebook.
Ephraim feels honoured to have been given the opportunity to advocate for the people living in the Eastern Ward and is committed to a collaborative, productive, and future-focused Triennium.
