Hutt City Council hereby gives public notice under sections 24(2)(b) of the Reserves Act 1977 that it intends to consider a proposal to revoke the reserve status of the property situated at 9A Durham Crescent in Epuni, being Lot 202, DP 15426 in CFR WNA1/619, comprising 857 square metres.
The local purpose reserve is owned by the Crown, but Council administers the property in trust (since 1959). The reserve is a sealed car park.
The reserve was set aside for off-street car parking for the public rental housing in this area and is no longer required for this purpose.
Once the reserve status is revoked ownership of the property will revert to the Crown. It is likely that the property will transfer to HNZ so that it can be incorporated into HNZ’s proposed new residential development for this area.
The inclusion of this irregular shaped property in the new development will optimise layout potential.
Submissions and objections to this proposal must be submitted by Friday 3 November 2017.
