Making payments

There are different ways of paying your fines and invoices sent to you by Council. The information below outlines how you can make a payment to us.

Online payments

Direct credit payments

To make it easier for us to send you a registration certificate, please ensure the correct reference detail is used when making payments to our bank account. The following service is available for receiving payments via direct credit (internet banking).

Available only for health registrations and trade waste consents

Payments over the phone

You can call us to make a payment over the phone as our call centre takes credit card payments for the following services:

  • Parking tickets
  • Building consents
  • Resource consents
  • Hall hire
  • Sundry debtor

Please note: We do not accept payments over the phone for rates, water, health and dog registrations. Contact us on 04 570 6666.

Visit us and make payments

You can make a payment in person. Visit Council at 30 Laings Road, Lower Hutt.

New Zealand Post

You can pay your parking infringements, rates and dog registrations with a bar coded invoice at any post shop. Locate your closest NZ Post shop.
