IHC art awards (opening night)

Thursday 2 August 5.30pm - 8.30pm

Join us for the opening night of this fantastic exhibition, supporting Artists living with a disability. This is the Wellington regional exhibition - top entries go through to the national exhibition in September.

The IHC Art Awards were established in 2004 to encourage and recognise creativity from New Zealanders with an intellectual disability.

Three judges from across the creative industries choose the top 10 artworks from the three regional exhibitions in Hamilton, Wellington and Dunedin.

■1st place winner receives $5000

■2nd place winner receives $2000

■3rd place equal (two winners) receive $1000 each

More than 360 artworks from around the country were entered in the IHC Art Awards in 2011. The artworks were judged by acclaimed children’s author Margaret Mahy, sculptor Brett Graham and printmaker Olav Nielsen.

The Wellington regional exhibition is open daily through until 16 August.
