Thursdays until 27 February 2014 | Midday till 8.30pm
Lower Hutt's summer season of day-long outdoor markets is returning, every Thursday until 27 February 2014, refreshed for the coming summer with more stalls, entertainment and activities. Margaret St will be closed to traffic and transformed into an outdoor market.
From midday until 8.30pm you can browse the many stalls selling quality (and mostly) local arts and crafts, gourmet food, enjoy demonstrations and entertainment throughout the day.
This year the market will have a theme each week and market goers can enjoy activities like painting horses for Wellington Cup Day to learning how to grow a winter garden. Planned themes are:
- 30 January: International Food on Margaret St
- 13 February: Art on Margaret St
- 20 February: Upcycling on Margaret St
- 27 February: Culture on Margaret St
The Margaret St Market is a family-friendly event which is currently looking for stallholders, entertainers and those wishing to offer workshops/demonstrations.
If you are interested in being involved with the market, either as a stallholder, entertainer or workshop/demonstrator, you can contact the CBD Development Manager, Cyndi Christensen, 570 6963 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
