- Own and administer leisure and community facilities for the benefit of the Hutt City community
- Redevelop the facilities in the future in line with the integrated facilities model
- Help raise funds for the redevelopments.
A Trust offers several advantages over Council owned facilities, including more business focused management, a stronger ability to attract community funding, and greater scope to grow partnership opportunities; commercial, social or otherwise.
The facilities the Trust could be used to develop include the Taita Sport and Community Centre, Fraser Park Sportsville and the Huia learn to swim pool.
