Council’s recreation and events manager Duncan Chisholm says despite the best efforts of his team, in the current economic climate it has been impossible to find sufficient funding to cover the cost of the event and organise it to the required standard.
“We understand there may be disappointed participants, and we are also disappointed. However we have been unable to realise the financial resources required to produce a quality event next year.
“We would like to thank all our loyal participants and major sponsor RaboDirect who have supported the event over the past three years,” he says.
