A crew of six from the Zhejiang Radio and Television Group visited the Petone Settlers Museum this week to discover the place of New Zealand’s first organised settlement.
Zhejiang International producer Shirley Cheng said the television crew was very impressed with the spirit of enterprise portrayed in the stories and images at the Settlers Museum.
The documentary, with the working title Beautiful Wellington, will be broadcast in Chinese and English in 56 countries.
Local company Stansborough, eco friendly weavers of very rare grey wool garments that feature in many recent movies, will be included in the documentary.
Featuring regional tourist attractions and history the documentary is expected to lift the number of visitors to the region.
