The competition is a joint promotion with the Hutt News. The prize is a single return airfare from anywhere in the world for the winner to fly to Wellington to stay with a friend or family in the Hutt. The airfare is paid for by Hutt News.

The first step in the competition is to collect an “I love Hutt City” badge from the i-SITE or Hutt News and send it to a friend or family member who must take a photo wearing it in front of a recognisable landmark abroad. Then post the photo on the council’s facebook page with a few words about why it would be great to visit the Hutt. The photo voted the favourite by the public will win the round-trip airfare.
