Zero tolerance to graffiti vandalism

We’re committed to freeing the city of graffiti vandalism and you can help us make a difference.

Why graffiti vandalism matters

Graffiti vandalism negatively impacts on feelings of safety, property values and the well-being of our city. If it is not removed soon after it appears, it can become a magnet for more.

What are we doing?

We’re committed to removing graffiti vandalism as soon as it appears and are enlisting the community’s help to look after their neighbourhood areas.

Proposed Graffiti Removal Bill

A Hutt City Council (Graffiti Removal) Bill 2011 is being promoted as a local bill to Parliament as one strand in a city-wide strategy to get on top of graffiti vandalism.

Rapid removal is key

Reporting tagging as soon as it appears is the best way to prevent it happening again and we need your help to keep our city free of graffiti vandalism.

Adopt-a-Spot to help make a difference

Locals can adopt a spot in their neighbourhood to keep it free of graffiti vandalism.
