Your Council

The benefits

We value the people who choose to work here and we’re committed to providing a work environment that promotes and supports your wellbeing.

Working in the Hutt

Working in the Hutt means:

  • An easy commute – we’re just 15 minutes from Wellington City and you’ll be going against the main flow of traffic.  There’s great public transport and we make it even easier by reimbursing your costs up to $30 per month
  • Easy parking – there’s parking near to work and it’s half the price you’ll pay in Wellington
  • Plenty to do at lunchtime – we’ve got a great selection of shopping from boutique stores to Westfield Queensgate, and plenty of cafes. You are also near beaches, parks, pools, and libraries, and there are two great museums to visit

Induction

We offer a comprehensive induction programme for all new employees.

Learning and development

We’ll support your development through:

  • Internal and external job-specific and skills-based training
