Elections for local authorities are held in every 3 years in New Zealand.

Residents and ratepayers have the chance to vote for:

  • the Mayor
  • Councillors
  • Community Boards
  • the Hutt Valley District Health Board
  • Mana Charitable Trust
  • the Greater Wellington Regional Council.

The next elections are in 2022

The next local elections will be held on Saturday 8 October 2022.

More information will be available in early 2022.

Hutt City is made up of 6 wards for electoral purposes:

  • Eastern Ward
  • Harbour Ward
  • Northern Ward
  • Wainuiomata Ward
  • Western Ward.
