Parks & Reserves Public Consultation

Some proposals for local parks and reserves require public notification under the Local Government Act and the Reserves Act.

These include proposals for:

  • Reserve management plans
  • Plans to buy or sell reserve land
  • Leases or licences to occupy reserve land that exceed 5 years or are considered a major political decision under the Private Use of Hutt City Council Land Policy delegations
  • Parks or reserves land exchanges
  • Right of Way and other Easements

Current proposals requiring public notification

Notice of Intent to Grant Lease on Recreation Reserve
Hutt City Council intends to grant a lease on existing premises located on a Recreation Reserve, under Section 54(1)(a) of the Reserves Act 1977.
As required by Sections 54(1)(a) and 119 of the Reserves Act 1977, Council must publicly notify this intention.
You can make a submission for or against, in writing. Submissions must be received by 4pm on 24 June 2025.
