Rātā Street Loop

Running through beautiful native forest, and owned by Wesley Community Action, this is the Hutt City’s shortest tramping loop.

About the Rātā Street Loop

This track winds its way up a gentle creek with multiple river crossings, quickly climbing and opening up to beautiful views across the Hutt Valley.

This track is a great place to introduce families to tramping being a rough, tramping style track but short enough to manage with children. Younger children may need assistance.

It can be easy to lose your way in the bush so take care to follow the arrows. The entire loop should take between an hour and an hour and a half.

Friends of Rāta Street Loop

In 2025, Wesley Community Action called together people who love the loop track to work together on looking after the track and its biodiversity to share the special koha that is the Loop Track with others. There is plenty that the community can do to get involved.

Please check out their Rātā Street Loop webpage to keep up to date with information relating to the Loop track.
