About Mayoral grants and donations

The Mayor’s Office has a small budget that can be used to help support Lower Hutt residents with:

  • charity events
  • participation in national and international competitions where they are representing Te Awa Kairangi and Aotearoa.

Eligibility criteria

Please note that all applicants must be one of the following:

  • a resident of Hutt City
  • a group based in Hutt City
  • hosting an event in Hutt City.

What we fund

There are two types of grants you can apply for:

  • NZ Representatives and Hutt City Regional Representatives
  • Charity events.

8 December 2020 Amma NZ $50.00 To support a music tribute concert to the late SP Balasubrahmanyam who has recently passed away due to COVID-19
7 December 2020 Stokes Valley Foodbank $100.00 To support their initiative to provide 60 Christmas gift boxes to children in need
4 December 2020 Nourish Trust $113.34 To provide food for Christmas hampers to be given to families in need
