A slip came down yesterday afternoon on Eastern Hutt Road.

Some of the slip has fallen onto the closed southbound lane.

Our staff are in touch with the homeowners whose driveway is currently inaccessible. Engineers have visited the site and due to the land still moving have advised that a nearby pine tree and potentially others need to be removed.

A long-reach digger will be onsite this morning to bring more of the bank down to minimise the risk of further slips.  There will also be a number of trucks on site to remove the soil.

A further southbound lane will need to be closed while this work is underway - see below for the road layout.

We are confirming if works can take place over the weekend, and if they can, this road layout will remain in place. Keep an eye on our social media for an update.
