Winter may have arrived but Lower Hutt is not slowing down with a packed June calendar set to bring colour, flavour, music and community spirit to the colder months.

From sizzling street food and cultural celebrations to live theatre and music by the sea, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Highlights include:

Mayor Ken Laban says Lower Hutt’s winter calendar shows the city at its warmest.

“The temperature may have dropped, but Lower Hutt’s events calendar is turning up the heat with colour, kai, music, laughter and community spirit.

“June is a great time to get out, support local performers and businesses, and enjoy the people and places that make our city special.

“We know winter can make people want to stay indoors, but there is real energy across the city this month. These events bring people together and remind us that winter can be just as lively, generous and joyful as summer.”

With around 700 events on across Lower Hutt in June, there are plenty of ways to brighten a winter day, fill an evening, or connect with others close to home.

Council’s What’s On platform makes it easy to search by location, date, age group or event type, so people can plan ahead and make the most of winter.
