When running an event, it is common to bring in food trucks and stalls. If you are the event organiser or the supplier of food, take a moment to read the below and check out the links.
We’d love to support local food vendors—find out what you need to do:
If you are not already registered to sell food you can trade in food on up to 20 occasions in a calendar year for the sole purpose of raising money for a charitable, benevolent, philanthropic, or cultural purposes. If you do not ordinarily sell food, you can trade in food on one day a year for personal profit.
In both examples you will need each food vendor to complete this form Notification of a food stall and send it to environmental.health@huttcity.govt.nz
This means you can trade without registration if the trade is for the sole purpose of raising money for a charitable, benevolent, philanthropic, or cultural purpose. That is capped at up to 20 times per annum. Or you trade once a year only.
And please consider:
- How will you remove all of your own waste from the venue?
- Do you have your own access to power?
- Are you using sustainable practices such as reuseable cutlery, compostable packaging?
